Blepharitis

The condition is an inflammation of the eyelids which may occur from irritations and allergies, insect bites, infections, etc. It may vary from a chronic, mild condition to a severe form with ulceration of the lids and damage to the eyes.

Symptoms

Itching, swelling, redness, scaling and crusting of the lashes often accompanied by styes and chalarions.

Self Help & Nutritional Help

Our single most important recommendation is Eye Ease Formula, which is not eyedrops, but rather, nutritional support.

In addition:

  • Avoid rubbing your eyes.
  • Apply a warm, wet compress 3 to 4 times daily.
  • Use a commercial lid "scrub" or baby shampoo on a cotton swab to wash the lids.
  • See Drugs That Harm the Eyes for potentially harmful drugs.
